What a great system! Instead of feeling like someone stole "X"thousand dollars from you, you are thrilled to be getting "X" hundred back!

Ask your employer if they have filled out IRS Form 2678 to become a duly appointed “Withholding Agent”. Most employers have not and many haven't even heard of this form, and are voluntarily giving away part of your pay. Funny how the IRS gets everyone else to do their dirty work.

That form is only for employers who want to authorize an "agent" - such as Paychex, ADP, or another payroll processor - to do the dirty work of withholding and paying payroll taxes for them. Can you be more specific as to how you think it's relevant to this discussion?
