The TX22 looks sweet, but knowing Taurus' history of "quality" makes me hesitant. The return of the warranty helps with that. From their Facebook page:

"TAURUS® ANNOUNCES NEW LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY

March 2019 (Miami, FL) – Taurus® is excited to announce the implementation of the company's new Limited Lifetime Warranty. In developing this policy, Taurus incorporated feedback received from their dedicated handgun owners and enthusiasts, based on what they wanted to see in a handgun warranty. Taurus customers will be pleased to learn the following Taurus handguns, previously covered under a one-year warranty, will now be covered under a Limited Lifetime Warranty:

Taurus® G2c, G2s, TH series, Taurus TX22, 1911 Commander, 1911 Officer, Taurus Spectrum®, Raging Hunter®, 856, and 692 revolvers.

...

The new Taurus Limited Lifetime Warranty policy warrants to the original purchaser that the firearm was made free of defects in material, function, and workmanship, and promises that Taurus will remedy any defect in material, function, or workmanship for the entire time the original purchaser owns the firearm. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser of the firearm upon successful and timely warranty activation and is not transferable to subsequent firearm owners. To activate this warranty, original purchasers must complete the warranty registration process online at https://warranty.taurususa.com or call Taurus at (800) 327-3776 within thirty (30) days of the purchase date. If activation of the Limited Lifetime Warranty does not take place, a one-year warranty will be in effect.

Original purchasers of a Taurus firearm covered by a one-year warranty will be pleased to learn their firearm will be covered under this new Limited Lifetime Warranty. No further action is required, except retaining the original purchase receipt for future warranty services."

Too little too late. If you're smart you'll never buy a new Taurus for anything more than pocket change. I've been burned numerous times on their guns.

The older stuff, pre 2000, seems to be pretty good. Their new stuff has been very problematic and their CS is the worst in any industry.

I bought a G2c last year for $199.

Wonderful ergonomics, fit and finish of the polymer lower was on par with the big boys, excellent reliability, so-so accuracy, horrible trigger and horrible slide finish.

My trigger feels like a two-stage trigger in that during the considerable take-up, there is a tactile and audible clicking half-way through. The actual final pull is not bad, but it feels like the trigger assembly is catching on something internally.

Others have reported the same thing, but then others say theirs doesn't have it. Not worth sending in to Taurus. May take it apart and see if I can figure it out one of these days.

Man, I bought a 44 mag ultralight made in 2012. Hasnt had any serious problems yet.
I got it used and was under the impression that they had a good warranty.
Guess I was wrong. I didn't break the bank paying for it either.
