I was wondering if any of you guys/gals have had experiance with the Tarus Judge during hunting? I have a shotgun but when i am on a deer run/drive or being locked out at the barways like it is this year i can't take a rifle AND a shotgun. I was wondering if people have used it to kill quail, grouse, squirrels, rabbits etc. Like just having it on your hip and if you have used it to kill small game. Now im not saying i'd replace it with my shotgun, but when i can't take my shotgun due to weight limits and mileage is the Tarus Judge worth it for hunting? ( i already have self defense guns, but it could help as well i've seen) Thanks!

How would you shoot a game bird legally with a Taurus Judge

This is a cut and paste from the game regs:

FIREARMS/SHOT RESTRICTIONS
Shotgun - a smooth bore firearm,
designed for firing birdshot and intended
to be fired from the shoulder, with a barrel
length of 18 inches or more, with an
overall length of 26 inches or more
One may hunt game birds or crows:
■ With shotguns no larger than 10 gauge
■ With recurve, long and compound
bows; hawk or falcon
It is prohibited to hunt game birds or crows:
■ With rifles or handguns EXCEPTION:
Forest grouse can be hunted with any
rimfire firearm
■ With a shotgun that can hold more
than three shells
■ With any shot larger than BB except for
steel shot no larger than F Exception:
No shot larger than No 2 or smaller
than No 6 may be used for wild turkey
Tracer shells may not be used to hunt
game birds
Toxic shot restrictions are listed where
appropriate under federal refuges, state
refuges, state WAs and regulated hunt
areas In addition, the possession and
use of shot other than federally-approved
nontoxic shot is always prohibited while
hunting waterfowl and snipe
■ See page 12 for more information on
legal hunting methods and non-toxic shot

You best read the Bird Regs before you end up loosing your gun and hunting rights.

Squirrels (Western Gray Squirrels as long as you follow the other regs) or Rabbits No problem

This is why Oregon needs to change the rules.

I wouldn't rely on it for anything over about 10 feet, unless you have paterned it out farther.
Some of these shotgun/handguns disperse the shot pretty fast, and a 410 ain't got a lot of pellets anyway.

Never understood the draw of the Judge . Shooting shot thru a rifled barrel and making the 45c bullet jump quite a bit to the rifling.
But that's just me
