That is on my shed - special.
I also got a couple of texts in a different color on the sidewalk in front of my house.

I talked to my mailman today, this showed up sometime Weds evening (after 4) thru Thursday afternoon (before 4 as that is when he comes by).

Anyone recognize the imagery?

Thanks,

translated, it says "Welcome to Hillsboro". if im correct it looks like you live in or near the neighborhood behind target on TV HWY. ive seen those a lot when i lived in that area. thankfully in the Aloha area, its all but unseen.

If you're really interested, your local cop station will usually have a gang/tag specialist who'll probably know the individual who did it. Not that that will do you any good, but you might get an interesting back story on what's going on.

Thanks. I did file a report with the Washington County Sheriff - the deputy said he had not seen the "$" symbol before.

My location is Aloha - not too far, (or not far enough) from the Max stop at 185th.

I had been thinking about some surveillance cams - but a trail cam might just be a good idea.

If you see a pair of sneakers tied together and hanging from an overhead phone wire in your neighborhood, that is the local drug dealers calling card.
You will probably see someone hanging out nearby waiting for customers.
I carry an extendable pruning pole in my work van, and cut them down every time I see them just to tick off the loser dealers.

Follow up

No work -
paint thinner
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser
regular cloths - ie shop towels etc

Work a little
Bon Ami / Bar Keepers Friend

Worked
Paint Brush cleaner
Goof Off

Worked best -
Goof Off Graffiti cleaner
Microfiber cloths.

Goof Off + Microfiber cloth was my best bet.

The graffiti cleaner allowed me to work fastest, I think mostly due to it being an aerosol and easy to apply.
The regular liquid goof off worked well, I think that since there was due to "wax on, wax off" and getting 2 passes.

The wife spotted several other locations in our neighborhood which were hit - example a clean fence in a similar shape,
indicating a neighbor had gotten to work on a tag.

Time for a beer.

My neighborhood has alleyways running behind our properties.
Last summer there was a 15 yr old teenager running around on a little Honda trail bike that was tagging all of the back sides of shops and fences.
Once a week I would have to clean the tagging off of my shop metal siding.
I could never catch the little creep in the act, but a close neighbor came up with a solution.
He strung a black rope across the alley and stayed up that evening waiting for him.
Sure enough, he came blasting down the alley at 3:00 am and the rope peeled him off the scooter.
My neighbor held him by the scruff of the neck until the cops showed up.
The local cops weren't going to do more then slap his wrist, but the little jerk started to mouth off, and in front of six witnesses,
he stated that as soon as he was released, he would come back with a shotgun and kill every one of us.
Off to juvie he went, and we never heard from him again.
Come to find out, this was his third strike for this kind of physical threatening.

Be careful with this tactic. At least put the rope low to the ground. My wife's brother was riding his bicycle down a grass hill and a home owner in the community didn't like the kids playing near his house (not even his property) and strung up a cable. The wife's bro didn't see it and...

IT KILLED HIM. just neighborhood kids playing no mischief.

Tag'd again.
Same guys.

On last Sunday, the wife and I drove through the next neighborhood, east of ours (separated by 185th (Beaverton / Hillsboro boundary more or less))
We saw a dozen victims of the same taggers - some on houses, fences and sheds.

This morning my wife answered the door for Washington County deputies, we and our neighborhood had been hit again.

I know - pictures, but I am at work -

Tag is GSM - which the deputy tells us is "Good Squad Mafia" - made of several ethnicities.

Have to up the priority of security cameras.

2 socialist policies contribute to this in my neighborhood. Ok i know I wouldn't care as much if it was your neighborhood so moving the crime is just 'fair" The light rail provides easy transport. The second is the requirement to house the impoverished around the city and not just in certain areas.
If you are familiar with the area - Willow Creek Transit Center - number one crime address in Washington County - mostly due to car prowls, and drug deals - has gotten so bad, they are closing the pedestrian path. Those socialists may not be aware - wouldn't want to hinder the impoverished thieves and drug dealers - so please don't tell them. What, cause that might move them away from my neighborhood - yes. I never said I wasn't selfish. I don't want my family threatened, my stuff destroyed.

Go to an auto paint supplier, and ask for a medium/slow evaporating lacquer thinner, and some gloves. It will wipe right off of metal surfaces, and baked-on painted surfaces.

Nothing works very well on porous surfaces, as it just soaks in. Must paint them over.
