Could be the membership is dwindling/ageing out. IIRC video guy said they had 160 members, no idea when video was made (didn't notice).

Also may be the range restrictions for ballistic safety as well, prone only.

No idea if other positions are normally allowed at other Swiss ranges without the ballistic restrictions. However, if other static positions are allowed at other ranges, folks would more than likely use other ranges just for such...

For long range marksmanship training that's a neat system, but not so much if training to use a gun in defensive applications.

All military ranges only prone shooting. Three-position shooting happens on special ranges made for it. No shooting at steel or reactive targets.

Standing and shooting at this range would get you dropped on the spot - see and hear the comments from the RCO. VERY interesting. The electronic scoring is very common in Switzerland - the RCO explains how it uses three microphones to triangulate the position of the bullet. And yes, the range is still open, and used by mainly civilians, and by the military shooting their annual 'obligataire'.
