Monica runs a computerized info-gathering network, attempting hundreds/thousands of similar scams daily. Hence the very non-specific auto-copy/pasted response. Same thing on Craigslist... "what is you best price this item."
Even when no transaction is conducted, Monica gathers emails, phones, addresses, etc. (whatever might be revealed), and sells those lists to other spam merchants, hackers and ID thieves.
Your email address is collected when you recognize it's BS and respond, telling Monica to fark arf. Your phone number, too, if you text.
Monica also has an auto-dialer that makes it look like you're receiving an incoming local call from a local number. So, for instance, (503) 555-xxxx goes to 9999 numbers at once. Those who answer, or call back or text, are confirming for Monica that it's a live number to be exploited.
Monica lives offshore and is completely untouchable by the FBI and other alphabet agencies.
Back to the ads. If only one of Monica's 1000+ potential marks per day can be duped into coughing up actual money, that's income for Monica. And his date, the goat.
