Always have my HD piece suppressor ready. I'd always rather start there.

Curious why you would want a suppressor on a home defense gun? This may have been already covered. Just wondering what people's thoughts on running your home defense gun with a suppressor. Too much of a legal risk? In other words do you think if you use one legally you could still get into trouble? Just curious.
Because you don't want to blow you ears out if you ever have to use it on short notice? Suppressors are a safety device, they go on any gun you want to be safer (for hearing).Curious why you would want a suppressor on a home defense gun?

Yeah, I don't want to detonate my ear drums if I have to send one out of a 10.5 AR.Curious why you would want a suppressor on a home defense gun?

Yes. Had a friend with several old houses on his 80k acre spread in eastern Oregon. Did a lot of testing of different types of ammo on walls . .223 zips right through Sheetrock wallsHAVE YOU EVER SHOT A HOUSE WITH A GUN?
Sounds like you were using the wrong ammo. Get the stuff with the polly tips like V-Max or similar and it will only blow through a few layers of sheetrock before the bullet is completely obliterated. This is better (or worse, depending) barrier penetration performance than even Buckshot or 9mm hollow point.Yes. Had a friend with several old houses on his 80k acre spread in eastern Oregon.
