NFA does not make exceptions for intra-family transfers. The same conditions apply - must do all the paperwork/etc. and pay the taxes.

The only exception is where an NFA item is inherited due to death, in which case the paperwork/waiting/etc. still applies, but the tax doesn't have to be paid.

Correct. As long as both parties are residents of the same state. If not, it goes through an FFL/SOT.

but didn't they just change the way an individual files for NFA ( most people doing a trust now a days )
