I am organizing another clean up for the Suaittle River Road shooting pits.
It will be on Saturday July 15th at 9am.
Both pits need to be cleaned up again. We did a good clean up two years ago and it needs be done again.
The DNR will be shutting the pits down for shooting during the pit clean up.
We could use help from all of you to get these pits clean.
If you can attend please bring gloves, a rake & flat shovel. We could use a couple of wheelbarrows.
I will be picking up a dump trailer for the clean up and have another one available if some one with a 3/4 ton truck could pick it up, dump the trash at the transfer station and return the trailer.
I will be selling some of my personal brass to help pay for the dump fees. (9mm and 223)

I am putting together a list of people who can attend the clean up.
If you can attend the clean up, or would like some brass or would like to donate to the cause or would like more information please send me a PM.

Bill Cogley made up a flyer for the clean up. I'll get it copied and go hang them up at the stores and gun shops. PM me if you would want any to hang up in your area.

Thanks for putting this together, Pat!!!

Thank you Bill, Trash NO Land is a great organization. You have helped out so much on these clean ups.
So the clean up will be happening this Saturday at 9am.
Upon arrival please sign in. When you sign in you will receive a free raffle ticket. After the clean up is completed we will host a free BBQ sponsored by Trash NO Land and Safeway.
After the BBQ we will draw the raffle tickets for the raffle items.

These clean up generally last about three hours with enough volunteers.
It is a great way to give back to our environment.
If we do not keep these shooting pits clean the DNR will close them down and put up gates.

I could really use a couple of guys on Friday afternoon or early on Saturday to get the area where people will be parking for the clean up.
If any one can help out on this please send
me a PM.

Caveman call me when you get close Everett and I will follow you up to Darrington.

It's all done .
There was about 15 guys there but we got it cleaned up two trailers full.
And had time to do a little shooting after the BBQ.

I'm still amazed at what people will drag into the woods to shoot.
We had three giant water heaters.
And a F@(#!_& POOL TABLE.
WTF.
LOL

You guys did a great job cleaning up the large shooting put.
Like Ed posted we had about fifteen guys that attended this clean up.
We had a 6x10 dump trailer and a 7x14 dump trailer and filled the both of them up.
It took a little more themln four hours of hard work to get it done.
We did get the large pit totally cleaned up. We ran out of time and room in the trailers to clean up the lower pit and that illegal shoots pot across the road half way between the two legal shooting pits.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped our with the clean up.

I will call the DNR up in Sedro-Wolley tomorrow to thank them for their assistance.

We had a BBQ after the clean up and then held the raffle after the BBQ.
About half of the guys did get some shooting in after the clean up was complete.
It sure was a hot late morning and early afternoon.

And a big THANK YOU to the following sponsors.
BILL COGLEY-TRASH NO LAND donated $150 For the BBQ
ARLINGTON SAFEWAY donated a $50 gift card for the BBQ.
TULALIP CABELAS donated a nice gun cleaning kit.
I sold some brass for and used that money for raffle items.
We also had a $40 donation that was used for raffle prizes
Also a couple of the clean up volunteers donated prizes for the raffle.
