the guy at the gunzone in portland told me when I bought my 870 that as soon as you load the tube, the gun will rack without having to hit the slide release. He showed me by stuffing a oversized or undersized dummy round in the tube & it racked without him using the slide release....sneaky

so you had anti firearm customer, ban her from your garage sale. :D

Actually, I do not think the little old lady was an "anti". I think it is more likely she has heard some of the propaganda and believed it as a done deal. Actually, there are probably a lot of people out there like that.

It's kind like the "Children's car seat" adds from a couple years ago. Remember, a black female WSP officer on TV touting, what was it, everyone in a car seat if they were under 5' 2" or some stupid thing like that. The adds were pure propaganda, there was no "law", but that is not the way it was presented on the TV. I think some were trying to drum up support for a change in the child car seat law.

There have been other adds on TV about firearms that were just as misleading, and I think that is I-594 makes it to the ballot we are about to see a bunch more. Make sure your Mother or grandmother knows what the LAW is, and what I-594 is all about. Make sure they promise to vote against I-594, IF it actually makes it on the ballot.

Right there with:

"Racking a 12ga will scare off an attacker"

It has been known to cause yellow leaks & brown stains.... But only when your face down, arms spread out wide, and held 12 ga is in the hands of Washington State Troopers... But I don't know that ~first the hand~ just heard about it, from somebody doing their laundry !!!!!

In the boondocks, I don't trust any body who calls it "Soda Pop" ....

At a garage sale near my home I ran into a Nambu. The seller told me that it was a Luger and did not want to hear that it was worth about a third of what a Luger would bring. As I was leaving he was trying to sell that "Luger" to some other fellow!

Years ago at a gun show a guy that I knew but hadn't seen in a few years tried to sell me a Hi Point 9mm telling me that " it was a lot like a GLOCK ". Evidently besides forgetting he knew me he must have forgotten about those felony charges he picked up stemming from the burglary/theft of a Rem. 700 from another guy I knew.

As gun owners we all have some funny if not irritating memories of crap that people have attempted to present to us as fact. On a non gun note my wife's friend honestly believes that cat's will crawl up on a baby's chest and suck the life from their mouth. Now that's some funny bubblegum right there ! I'm not making that up.

On the other hand I've heard some things that made me cringe so hard I almost had to just run away...then they came true. My dad shacked up with a woman for years who was filled with " facts " that apparently only she knew. She told us one day there would be gangs in the schools, gangs everywhere, and we would have to carry guns in our daily activities to protect ourselves. I laughed so hard I almost pissed myself....then 10 years later it became at least somewhat true. I'm always glad that pops kicked her to the curb, wish he had done it sooner.

I have had a surprising amount of folks ask me about my "un-registered" guns. Who would I register them with? Where is that located?

I also am shocked at how many people believe that anyone has the right to restrict ANY gun ownership from another free American. I cannot understand why "shall not be infringed" is so hard to understand. You are a felon that served his time? You STILL get to defend yourself! You are "mentally deficient"? You STILL get to defend yourself! The oft-used phrase "I'm not OK with fill-in-the-blank owning fill-in-the-blank". Fortunately for those of us NOT brainwashed into Socialism, we understand that The Constitution protects the individual that would be oppressed by the majority.

Folks that cite anti-gun "death rates". No matter how badly you want it to happen, guns DO NOT kill 50,000+ people a year. A gun in your home DOES NOT make you more likely to have it used against you by an intruder.

People that are completely OK with their tax dollars being used to prop up a police state that is a thieving, murdering oppression machine run by folks that scream against guns, while hiding behind armed men.

Lastly, folks that continue to cite the "racism" in the Zimmerman case, no matter how many times it is proven false. Forcing a racist label onto a person because you can "just feel it", facts be damned, is disgusting and any of you guilty of it should be ashamed of yourselves. Vile tools of the Left. None for me, thanks.

Somebody on this forum told me (all of us actually) that he watched a .270 bullet bounce off the hindquarter of an elk once.

He claimed those east side elk have much tougher hides/fur than west side elk do,...
And that a .270 just ain't enough gun over there.

Of course, I wish he'd have told me that before I packed all that meat back to camp all those years!
