Just from that first segment at the beginning you can tell it's not journalism but a biased editorial pretending to be journalism. High School Journalism 101; don't make a position for your readers, give them all the facts impartially and let them decide.

I decided to send Mr Westneat a response.

Your article is disgraceful as a journalist. You market your slanted biased opinion as factual news. My high school journalism teach would have failed you. I'm not sure where you forgot what actual journalism was but, to give you a refresher. You present the facts of a story or topic from several points of view and on both sides of an argument. You explicitly leave your point of view out of the article and let the reader decide what to do with the information. Honestly, read your article, if you don't believe it belongs in the Opinion section you have let your political beliefs corrupt your journalistic integrity to your soul and you should resign.
