Like someone mentioned before, you can still order the parts online. He is not worried about his kid going off the deep end. He just wants to make sure he is meeting the legal requirements for having his son in the house while charges are pending. The water is pretty muddy on this.

Additionally, the whole point that he is accused of making a threat and it spins out of control so fast is disturbing. This zero tolerance craziness is only going to create more snowflakes.

Help him list it here for a reasonable price, buyer pays FFL fees.
When the dust has cleared, he can buy a new one.
He'd probably be out less $ than if you and he play the FFL game between you, and he absorbs both FFL charges.
And you would not be "connected" to the situation in any legal, liable way.

SB 941 was enacted to prevent criminals from easily buying firearms. No one wants to harass law-abiding gun owners who are trying to prevent a tragedy.

And that sh!t right there is why these morons shouldn't be put in any position to make, enact or even propose legislation. Legislators were warned that this type of situation would be the 'unintended consequences' of passing such a f'ing ridiculous bill. And how many guns has it kept out of the hands of criminals??? ZERO. Instead, because of SB941, it is all but FORCING a gun to remain near a potentially dangerous person.

Good to know a good Samaritan would have to actually break the law in the event of an emergency situation just to help someone take a gun out of a potentially dangerous situation.

Somebody needs to tell this story to the f'ing Oregon legislature, including that turncoat/backstabbing Brian Boquist. Send him this story and tell him this is only one example of how they fail to see what kind of harm THEY are doing when it comes to gun violence. This is all on them, 100%

What's even worse is that their new law makes it perfectly legal to have a SWAT team show up at the house to search and confiscate any and all firearms. I'm sick and tired of legislators using their power to seek revenge on law abiding citizens because a family member lost their lives in a totally unrelated tragedy. They are attacking everyone in order to somehow cope with their loss, and they are pandering to others to come join in the fight.

Come to think of it, didn't a guy from Germany with a moustache and bad comb over do that back in the 1930s?

WE, should Never follow un-Constitutional Phony laws such as presented here, I second the Good Ol' boys way of helping your neighbor. Best to help those near you, than to ever help an unworthy "law" do it's intended WRONG.
