The range is operated by the Cascade Sportsman's Club http://cascadesportsmansclub.com/index.html under an agreement with the county. A gate has been installed, which club range safety officers have a key for. The range is open to club members only when a club RSO is present. Members are notified via email with the club calendar showing which days and hours the range will be open. Unfortunately, the restrictions are necessary due to the abuse inflicted on the range by a minority of shooters who think nothing of shooting up garbage and leaving it for someone else to deal with. If you want to use the range, membership is easy: Hold a concealed carry permit, member of the NRA and pay $20/year. If you want more information about the club or range, PM me or post your question here. The CSC also hosts a small but decent gun show, usually on the first weekend of each month.

Also, there will be an Appleseed event during the weekend of June 7/8 so sign up and check out the range while getting some basic rifle marksmanship instruction along with a little history about our marksmanship heritage. www.appleseedinfo.org

This is great news. I love this range. Had been going there for years. garbage was getting out of control. I saw a shot up toilet bowl there once. So no surprise this had to happen.

The range is on county property, hence the control requirements issued by the county commissioners. See my previous post for the conditions to operate. Without those conditions in place, there would be no range.
