400 rounds of Nosler Trophy Grade 40 gr Ballistic Tip ammo for just $99 with free shipping. Their bare brass goes for more. (I thought it was a steal for $169.95 a few months back. They don't recommend it for AR's as it may not lock the bolt back, but for a bolt action varmint rifle, unbeatable deal!

  1. I agree to the classified rules and terms of service
Dies anyone know if this ammo is an absolute no-go in semi-autos, or is this just a CYA by Nosler to avoid the occasional complaint that it won't cycle?

I tried it in my S&W M&P 15 Sport, and it ran okay, but failed to lock the bolt back on an empty magazine. It might not run consistently in rifle length gas systems. Kind of surprising to me, since Fiocchi Extrema 40 gr V-Max runs fine. I will try some in a few other AR's later this week, but there are only 3 units left at that price. For $5 per 20 rounds, it seems like one could sell it at a profit, if need be. I still have 380 rounds left from my purchase at the higher price, but couldn't pass up this bargain. ( I do have a couple bolt guns in .223. Probably should have bought all 5, but didn't want to be too greedy.)

Now showing in stock again. Same price. Tried some in a couple of AR's yesterday, had one misfeed in a Stag Model 6 in 10 rounds, the M&P 15 Sport ran two 5 round mags flawlessly. Very accurate.

This round works exceptionally well in my Remington 700 Varmint rifle. IMHO - Nosler makes the best brass. I have reloaded Nosler brass 25 times, with annealing. Just the brass would cost you more than $99.00
