I have a buddy in Summerset Kentucky that builds guns for a local gun shop. Mainly AKs. His youngest son is totally obsessed with guns and how they work. This is him with some of the guns dad has built. He even likes the build process. The UZI the boy is holding is Dad's legal class III transferable that is still in jail. Going on 9 months. The last pics of the boy holding an AK. Is a recent Soviet AK-12 build. The latest AK in the Ukraine. I think this is cute as h e l l .

I couldn't agree more. Having that foundation of safety and respect for firearms, basically for as far back as they can remember, completely demystifies firearms and engenders a healthy and proper perspective.

Making them accessible really cuts the knees out from under the temptation and curiosity factors that can lead to unsupervised and dangerous mis-handling/fondling... from my experience. For myself growing up as well as my expeirience as a father of 5.

It's when you make them "forbidden", "scary" and allow no guidance with hands on experience that create a recipe for potential disaster. If you don't teach and allow them the opportunity to practice and demonstrate safe habits, how will they ever learn?
