So i ended up two weeks ago selling my C2 to a member here, and buying a CS. I went back and forth between the new C and the CS, and in the end settled on the CS.

Reason why? Because I ended up also buying the QVO CS-X Mainspring Housing. It gives you the best of both worlds- the option to have the compact grip or the 'full size' grip, with just a change of the mainspring. I also got mine with a DLC Threaded barrel- i shoot almost exclusively suppressed now, and so having the shorter slide is appealing when mounting a suppressor!

In the end I am glad I made the change, the grip is just thin enough to make the difference, and the gun has the nice upgraded grip texture etc. Only negative of the CS model, is that you cant mount a full size light, but I have a Staccato P too, so have that covered!

Interesting solution. Thanks for sharing.
I also have a P which got me interested in the single action platforms.

Staccato is the only manufacturer I have difficulty figuring out models with. Because they're too dang close to each other. I have no idea what the difference between a C, CS and C2 is... Even going to their website doesn't clear it up much.

C2. Double stack with older style mags
CS newer mag design. Slimmer 3.5 barrel
C (2024) 4.0 version of CS with 1/2 longer grip

The P is awesome!! I would say if you arent going to carry and you have larger hands, then the original wider grip P/C2 are still just as awesome. I have glove size large hands, and for me, the new thinner grip C/CS models do fit better. However I wont be getting rid of my P, as it with a suppressor is awesome. I also have the XC, and it is just next level, but for double the price. For most people the P will be plenty. It will be interesting though to see if Staccato still moves forward with releasing a P sized gun with the new gen mags . . .

To add to this, I often use handgunhero.com to compare different guns, really nice that you can do an overlay to see exactly the size differences. Only negative is that they still have not updated the "C" model- they are showing the specs for the "Old" C model, which was a single stack more similar to a regular 1911. The new C as mentioned is the newest gun they released, with the very compact double stack mags.

Basically the C2, P, XC all take 'standard' 2011 mags, which are good that they are 'industry; standard mags that other 2011s also take, but they are very wide and not as efficient for space, unlike most mags that manufacturers are going to.

The CS and 'new' C, take Staccato's new 'proprietary' mags which are substantially thinner, allowing for a thinner grip both from side to side and back to front. CS has the shortest slide, and can now be had with either the compact grip or full size grip. "New" C now has the option too of compact or full size grip, with a 1/2 inch longer slide, which allows for the mounting of full size lights like the X300. The new C in its compact size is basically Glock 19 size.

I carry the P when wearing heavier shirts. Considering the C for summer carry.
How would you compare the C model to a plastic gun like a Glock 19?

I may be the wrong person to ask about Glocks- I HATE Glocks. Yeah i have a couple because no good collection could be without any, but IMO there are just so many better options out there now. I will say I just got the new "limited" Davidson edition of the G19X, with the threaded barrel and optic cut. That is peak glock for me, but even that is ho hum compared to others.

I really like a good trigger- trigger makes the gun IMO, and I just am not a fan of Glock triggers. So for me, it is worth it to go to something with a good trigger, and the Staccato has that in spades. Not the "best" trigger I have- the best for me is my Langdon Tactical Beretta 92- the trigger they work on that thing is just magic.

The weight and size of the C or CS, i would carry that any day over a Glock. If only going plastic fantastic 9mm, I would look at HK P30 or VP9, M&P2.0, CZ P10c, P365XL. New Echelon was suprisingly good, would highly recommend that one. Would take the P10c any day over a glock- same size, with way better trigger.

Having said all of that, lately I have been getting back to roots, and going all metal guns. M&P2.0 Metal frame is awesome. Sig P226/P229 are amazing (especially the legion series). Aforementioned Langdon Beretta 92. CZ Shadow 2 compact is awesome, and very similar size to the C, for 1/2 the price . . .

So many guns, so little life . . . ;-)

I would be interested to hear your opinion on your C model.
I have nothing but good things to say about it. The only downside is the cost. If you want a 2011 I think it's a fantastic choice.

I went with the 3.5 lb trigger on mine. After some 2,000 rounds I'm still getting used to it. No regrets going with the full-size grip.

The ergonomics on the C's slightly slimmer V3 grip are really especially good.
