What are your opinions on using square up as a form of payment for private sales. It lets your android or iphone accept credit or debit cards for a 2.75% per swipe fee. The reader is free to order and there are no contracts or annual fee's.

It seems like it would be a good idea for venders at gun shows.

I'm sure the gov would want a some. It's verifiable income that is placed in your bank account. I'm sure 1 could get into issues with taxes. Most people like cash for pp sales cuz big brother dosnt see it! I wouldn't pay with it...
Most places have the set up at gun shows to accept cc machines. Most cc machine fees are around the 2 to 4% anyway. Just seems sketchy to me someone swiping my cc in their phone. :)

Well I have a Paypal account. I can set up the account to draw from my bank account if funds are not available in my Paypal account. So lets say I'm at a gun show and I want to pay for something I don't have the funds for. If the seller has a Paypal account and a Phone that can access his Paypal account (basic Data plan) I could use my phone to go into Paypal and transfer the funds to him right there just like sitting at home on the computer.

In a min or two the funds would appear in his account. And he could use his phone to verify it.

No need to swipe anything.

I have even used a computer at an antique store to transfer funds to the store from my Paypal account. Not rocket science

Bull I just bought a Revolver from a local gun shop using my Paypal card. The deposit has been approved and I have no doubt the balance which is in pending statis will also clear as soon as the paper work makes its way to Paypal.

I have also gotten the 1.5% cash back I get for using my Paypal debt card for signature purchases. SO I have no idea what your talking about.

How is Paypal to know what it is you have bought they know the name of the business not the name of the product you buy.

Yes I know where it says you can't use the Paypal service to buy (h) ammunition, firearms, or certain firearm parts or accessories. But then again how are they possibly going to know what Bimart is charging them $22.99 for?

And?

I use it at conferences when I am selling for a Greek Apparel company I sell for. It makes life much easier than typing everything in or handwriting it. The customer can choos whether they want a receipt by text or email. When done by email it shows you where the payment was made in a google maps type of map which is pretty cool. One thing that does suck is you can only do so much per month with the basic account. We use multiple accounts I believe and I think they are going to upgrade it soon.

Only Square has the limits - I think it's $1000. Then they hold your funds for 30 days.

PayPal also sits on funds if you use it for selling - of course, it depends on their mood.

They are a soon-to-be short lived company due to their recklessness.

There are other, more secure credit card readers for smart phones, but they all charge a percentage... Not worth it IMO. Make the buyer stop at an ATM.

Also, tapatalk sucks.
I'm very surprised you use it.
