I've heard for years how the High Power was a John Browning designIs there one solitary proprietary design by SA?
their 1911s have been sourced and made in USA for yearsSo SA isn't actually manufacturing their goods?
You probably haven't shot one then.I don't understand the intrigue.
Fabrica Militar? Or something else?I was wondering the same thing. The last I checked, the Argentinians were still making a licensed HP copy, in both standard and compact configurations. I'm not sure who else is making HPs these days though.
Well, nobody in this page has shot this newest iteration so....You probably haven't shot one then.
Fabricaciones Militares was the one I was thinking of.Fabrica Militar? Or something else?
It's just a nice, shootable 9mm .Well,

It may have been a great gun decades ago but I don't think it has any value today beyond the sentimental.

I personally like the horizontal trigger of a 1911 design over a pivoting triggerIt's just a nice, shootable 9mm .
I have yet to own, or even run a 9mm 1911 . But I assume that would be comparable for just plain comfort of use.
Nighthawk had a brief run a while back. I thought my LGS was going to get me one of them, and another customer something from them in 10mm . The order was never placed, and interest waned.@Knobgoblin, dang, those are some fine looking automatics.
Do they make any percentage of their products?their 1911s have been sourced and made in USA for years
but in our global economy, who makes 100% of their products
not Chevy or Ford
Colt is not even an American owned company any longer
I don't know about that, I was looking for an all steel, hammer fired, high capacity 9mm to shoot dueling tree and speed steel events and this tics all the boxes for me.Well,

Remember when they were $200 NOS?I'm good with the Argentine hi powers, the only hipower maker using a facility set up and licensed by fn.
Same. I've shot original HPs and the Argentinian ones, and no complaints. (I, ever so vaguely, recall shooting at least one of the Hungarian FÉG ones, but don't really have much of a lasting memory.)I'm good with the Argentine hi powers, the only hipower maker using a facility set up and licensed by fn.
Indeed I do. Double sigh.Remember when they were $200 NOS?
Sigh
I think the "Detective" model I had was around $250. Wonder if that will make the sa line up.Remember when they were $200 NOS?
Sigh
Prolly not. It was a full 3/4" shorter than original slide length .I think the "Detective" model I had was around $250. Wonder if that will make the sa line up.
