Spokane gun show incident??

Any one here have any info about this? Did this really happen? Apparently this occurred on Dec 6th in Spokane.

ow stories will vary, but I got my information directly from the gentleman who stepped in. There was a near miss at the gunshow today. Bill, an old Corpsman type who checks guns and helps out at the gunshow saw two middle eastern gentlemen enter the Gunshow today, Sunday. They were asked for any guns and both seemed surprised and each turned over a <broken link removed> . Bill followed them after that as he noticed they each had "Syria" tattooed on their wrist. Bill was distracted for a moment, but then was alerted by a vendor that they were going booth to booth asking for "Assault Rifles." When they were asked if they were WA residents they stated "We don't have to tell you that," and one vender even asked if they were US citizens to which they rapidly walked away. Bill caught up with them when on was either reaching for his wallet or possibly a gun and Bill saw that he was carrying another gun that was not checked at the door. Bill grabbed the gentleman and noticing that the other was closing distance on Bill he asked for help and another vendor and a shopper grabbed up the other gentleman. They were found to each have multiple other loaded guns, and several other magazines. They were escorted to the front and I believe turned over to police.

Something smells fishy in Spokane. "Syria" tattoos that could be read by gun show personnel? The lack of full names or other verifiable details? The gun show organizers didn't report it or are silent when doing so would keep them from getting future permits?

The story would play into hands of anti-gun and anti-gun-show people, and would be used by them in a heart beat if true. It would also play into the hands of those critical of Obama and his ME immigration policy, and would be used by them as well.

It sounds like someone trying to throw gas on the fire when we need to be focused on truth and facts.

I don't doubt that someone, including Islamic terrorists might go to a gun show to pick up some guns, but they wouldn't be so easy to spot and they wouldn't be so stupid.

Yeah, this smells of a made up story. The OP's quoted story claims they "believe" they were turned over to the police. What does that mean, "turned over"? Were they arrested? Detained? If anything like that happened, there would be some record of it. And, I suspect it would make the local news, even if just the local paper. But no one else is backing the story, so I say "nothing to see here".

Things are so easy to vet these days and if it's old, go to Snopes.
When I checked this morning, a simple partial cut and paste yielded nothing from any news agency and only five hits from some shooting/gun sites with no corroboration.

These shows prohibit even loaded CC weapons and these two guys produce a couple Glocks (for some reason, I always keep my mouth shut about mine concealed means concealed).

So Bill clears them and zip ties them and hands them back. As soon as they get past them, they cut the zip ties and insert mags and chamber rounds. They are then kicked out. They made a bit of a scene and said they were discriminated against. End of story.

Snopes is controlled by Liberals and they edit their content, as does Google. Obama is secretly releasing these guys in the US so I can see how Snopes would not cover this but seeing as 1800 Syrians are being dumped on Spokane I can see it happening. As far as the ink goes Muslims are a diverse crowd, even the ones that are terrorists

I treat Snopes just like the MSM. It really doesn't matter their agenda or who they may or may not be controlled by. They are one of many sources of information. No one should be making a hard decision on any story based solely on one source. I have found Snopes to be very useful in proving false stories as well as true ones - I use them as a stepping stone on my research - it saves me time and effort getting to the truth. I wouldn't dismiss them out of hand, but would recommend never citing them as a sole source.

One of the biggest problems in our country right now is that many people only seek a single source for opinions or even truth, without ever bothering to cross-check the facts. And with the internet, it's easier to do than any time in our past.

Yeah according to Bill. I don't think anyone but them knows their immigration/citizenship status though. And Bill didn't hear anything mentioned about "AW" or see any tattoos. Someone else could have though. Also LE was never involved.

Not that any of this story is true or not true.

But the idea that the Syria Tattoo would have to be in Arabic is flawed. If these two so called middle easterners were from the USA as in born here! They might not have never learned how to write in Arabic.
