This is a virgin barrel It requires a barrel extension to be installed and a gas port installed. I don't have the tools to do so. I figured if I ever shot out the 5.45x39 barrel I have I would get the tools and remove the old extension and parts and install on this and keep shooting but I think I will run out of 5.45 way before shooting out my current barrel.
Barrel extension should be installed by a gunsmith or someone who knows how to do it. It's not spikes marked but that's where it came from. It is either melonite or nitrate treated to be long-lasting and semi corrosion-resistant and for accuracy.
Nice backup barrel to have when you shoot your out as these are getting to be more expensive and harder to find if you just happen to be one of those lucky guys who bought a stockpile of 5.45x39 back when it was cheap. Also in ammo hoarding times like these, there tends to be more 5.45 available in wolf and other steel-cased brands.
