Hi all,
I know what a shot in the dark it is, but thought I'd throw it out there anyway.
About 1985 a family member pawned and never retrieved a JC Higgins rifle at the long-gone pawnshop about 111th and SE Holgate in Portland.
I believe it was a model 30 or 31. It had the two section stock and retractable sling. The identifying feature of this one was that a different family member had worked their wood-burning skills over the forward stock section in a diamond pattern.
It was kind of ugly, wasn't terribly reliable, and was on at least the third firing pin when pawned, but I'd like to find it if anyone has seen it.
Thanks for reading
