I've read the story on this. This photo was taken as a reenactment of a scene. A "publicity shot". On of the other officers on scene did that to the rifle and handed it to her for the photo.

Does that make it better, or worse? Her fellow officer rather made his point that she doesn't know which end is up, or to the rear, or whatever.

It still looks painful - I hope she used plenty of Militec.
