If it is a DA it should not have the decocker when you pull the hammer back does it lock back or just fall ? I have never seen a 229 in 45 acp but looked it up sure enough there is such a animal .

haha I was so wrong about the p229 part :s I took a picture of the side of the box that list all the specs. Should help answer most of your questions... as you can tell I am not a handgun person at all :s
