I've shot a 454 with a longer barrel. Does it kick a lot more than that?

I have never fired a 454 ...
The recoil on the 500 isn't that terrible, I fire a couple cylinders through them now and then with zero issues, I actually like them ... Putting a box or so through it I would wear a padded shooting glove ...

A 500 Grn hardcast really rings a steel gong though ...
