... I would really like to know how you would even think foreign troops would make it to our soil. Maybe through Alaska or Mexico, but that seems like a pretty dumb archaic idea. ...

The US is enormous - like Russia/USSR is huge and as history has shown, it's really hard to take over so much land mass even if you share a border. With the US having the Pacific and Atlantic on 2.5 sides, Canada to the north on another side, and Mexico taking up half a side, invasion seems an extremely remote possibility. There just aren't that many countries which could project power all of the way across an entire ocean (maybe Russia or China but shipping sufficient numbers of troops here would be extremely difficult with those oceans in the way even if they had the capability). Canada just isn't even thinking about it, and Mexico is too economically dependent and disorganized to be a real threat.

I'd worry more about Yellowstone erupting than foreign soldiers.

Kinda.

....there are a number of countries that would be more than glad to send troops to "help", irregardless of the number of there own citizenry whom might be out of work and starving..

:eek::eek:OCD ATTACK!!!! please edit and remove the "ir" from regardlesso_Oo_Oo_O. My brain can't handle it.:confused::confused:

For the record...
I hate grammar police too!;)

I dont necessarily know where our dozen or so aircraft carriers are, but I do know they're a lot bigger and a lot more numerous than any other countries. I would really like to know how you would even think foreign troops would make it to our soil. Maybe through Alaska or Mexico, but that seems like a pretty dumb archaic idea.

For first world countries, I think boots and tanks wars are a thing of the past.
And I bet everyone wishes to know where the SSBNs are skulking.

That said, try imagining an aquatic landing on the Oregon coast.

Yeah, someone like Kate Brown and/or her crew would probably invite foreign help over domestic in a heart beat. It'd be easier for her/them to round up folk.

The Chinese learned of the futility of using local troops during Tiananmen. Darn tanker wouldn't even run over an old man with his groceries. politicians know the trick is to invite outsiders to do the early dirty work.

China. Human wave strategy or whatever it's called. Like the Russians against the Germans except china has the industrial capacity to arm more than 1/3 of the soldiers.

China has plenty of population tokens 10 or 100 million. Also a gender inbalance as a result of one child policy. Also a huge incentive to re settle a huge chunk of their population. It would be a one way ticket

a colonization more than an invasion. An endless tide of reinforcements is how Europe took over this continent.

getting the first million or so colonists/soldiers over here? Hide them in the cargo ships. That's a big bubblegum troop carrier (or two or three) pulling into every major port on the west coast simultaneously with zero warning.

After that, the threat of sunken ships and lost lives didn't stop us sending a steady stream of ships to the uk in WWII... eventually our ships will need to resupply except no westcoast ports.

No need to resupply if they live off the native resources. No need to even orchestrate the invasion from China even.

Have a wonderful morning.

Invasion in a traditional military sense is highly improprable, but we have been being invaded in a non traditional sense for a very long time. if America falls, it will be from within. The communist/socialist agenda is growing and the polarization of he American people is also growing. Not to mention we have allowed Muslim immigration to grow at a increasing rate and history has proven that when Muslims represent half the population or more the "shift" happens from peaceful coexistence to domination.

The Beaver State: not worth the trouble to invade.

We've been invaded, from California. Looks like we've been thoroughly defeated and taken over, from a look at Salem.

Oregon used to be moderately liberal with a libertarian twist. I could live with that, and mourn the loss of our state. It's now California north, run by stark raving loonies. Sad.

Other that that I didn't read the whole thread. Concern of a foreign military invasion on U.S. soil is pretty far down on my list of worries. Not much of a shtf prepper myself. Maybe I should be, I don't know.

As for.... "I would really like to know how you would even think foreign troops would make it to our soil"......For the previous eight years I would have told you..... Under U.N. escort from our ships by presidential order.
