Some one pointed out several months ago, the real reasons behind all of this is to push out the "Good" cops, the good citizens, and bring the property values down so that "They" can then bring in the big California bucks at rock bottom prices, and install "Their" kind of people! They want to completely transform Potland into this grand socialist utopia, and to do that they need to get rid of us old sticks in the mud! I expect to see things ramp up now, people will start leaving in droves or get driven out for lack of affordable housing, zero jobs, and with the epic criminal behaviours that are allowed and encouraged! Once that happens, expect to see a quantum shift in the type and quality of the people who now reside in Potland, they will not be the kind of people any of us would want as neighbors, or voters!

a lot of insight in your post and I was reading recently about "woke capitalism ". Its working as planned by driving out small businesses and sending employees to work from home to empty office space. Property will get cheap for the hedge funds to buy. Rents of all kinds are going sky high as we speak and the government is now allowing renters to be kicked out.

Let's be honest...America is going downhill. Debates and discussions aside, what will this country look like in 20 years and how will you deal with it. My personal opinion is that personal freedoms and property ownership will be pretty much toast as the welfare state redistributes wealth. As someone said 'They tried that and it didn't work'.

LWH I don't think it will be a full scale war, I think it plays out more with the government replacing money with government credits or something they control electronically. You want to pay your bills you do so with your electronic credits. so much more convenient than cash. those who won't comply will simply be unable to live a normal comfortable life, and will be re-educated. turn in those guns or don't eat1 something along those lines...Have I mentioned I'm also cynical

If not to take utter and complete control of the people, then what is the purposes, make it easier for a foreign country to invade, after another plan-demic that actually lives up to all the hype Covid was supposed to, but failed misserabley at? No, there WILL be an epic fight, maybe not the kind most folks would like to see, but a fight none the less! I only hope it comes while I'm still young enough to bring the mean, and to stand along side my own two boys while they also add their weight and experience to its final outcome!

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of politicians use it to get votes. "Look, I'm doing something!" but yes, there are definitely some very wealthy/powerful people who clearly don't want the peasants to be armed.
