Just my opinion but there is no way antifa could have grown so big and done so much damage without government protection. They have been active for over 15 years and government did nothing. :s0093:
My thought is people need to feel ownership and have the ability to live free and have the ability to express themselves. The problems could have easily been crushed. Give people enough space to live their own way and they are happy. Have portland. Just don't bring it to the country.

The people rioting do not think that way, they believe opposing ideas must be crushed. I think it would be nice if those giving Antifa cover would just report facts. Drop the Anti part and acknowledge the rioting and lack of Wanting to respect other Ideas, is not antifascist it is just fascist! and to hope they wont spread...look around our children are being "educated" to believe our country is inherently racist and vile. our monuments are being torn down, founding fathers denigrated and our constitution is viewed as an impediment to progress. give the far left credit, they took the schools and our children without a shot.

I am old and semi educated so I remember the lessons taught on how Hitler and the Nazi socialist took over Germany, one block at a time. It took a while but Hitler took over Germany and then threatened the world.

If we start giving up blocks pretty soon its our block that's given up. :s0093:

Seems like you will be feeling some effects down there as all major cities in OR are blue and Corvallis being close. I saw Prineville start to change this year with Apple and FB moving in.

Lived in Oregon 69 years now and watched it turn third world commie for the last 30 years of corrupt voting. State could be fixed if folks would demand an audit of the vote. Until folks demand change it won't happen and before long Oregon will be a communist state. :s0093:

Prineville is over. Real estate went through the roof in the last year alone. Lovely town with 130 years of 'equity' and social equilibrium - no class status or striffe... Now it's all 'Us' vs "them' and 'them' is winning by buying up everything available. Same thing that killed Sisters 30 years ago.

Yeah I don't see that working. Variety of reasons. First and foremost, people own that land, and it's not those people. If they really wanted to live free they could pool resources and buy a place for a utopian commune or something. Homesteading other peoples places isn't a done thing.

it is my home! hard to let others take it:mad:
There is a great deal of information to follow as the reset keeps going, hopefully folks are informing themselves.

Its not just the state in trouble but our country. I just wish I wasn't old and my time nearly over, I just hate leaving behind the mess we have.

Time for my old man's walk gents, it relieves the stress. :s0093:

Nothing wrong with a therapeutic walk about.
Have been taking more evening walks about the neighborhood myself.

I also suggest regularly heading out to any of our available public lands and putting in an hour of disciplined practice with the weapon of your choice.

If our personal safety is going to be increasingly left to us as individuals then it's probably wise to develop some level of proficiency with that weapon. The right to own/carry implies the responsibility to develop some level of competency associated with handling/use. Assuming you can work it all out at the moment of high stress is not safe, for anybody.

Then a nice walk in the woods...good for the soul.

Living there has been a choice for a for a few decades. We still have freedom to roam about in the USA - so far.
Lots of peoples work is portable now... can live wherever there is an internet connection. My stepdaughter just sold her home near Boise and works for the Idaho Parole Board from a remote part of E. OR and travels into Boise only once a week.

I worked out of Bend for two years in 2004-2006, Sisters was already Sisters. But Prineville was a very old town with "country" folks, if that means conservative IDK. The new golf course complex wasn't built yet, and not many snooty richy rich folks, but it was already starting to happen. I did home inspections, so I saw it all. I moved back to E OR to get away from all that.

:D I walk every day rain or shine, about 40 minutes. Back to nature and out of man's world. A nap every day is just as good as you can collect your thoughts and assemble them as to importance. Retirement is like that for me.

My fun is here sharing opinions, I want to read what others are thinking. This is a good place for it as folks express their own opinions rather than opinions given to them by fakebook and twit..:s0093:

The best statement made on the Portland politically sponsored riots was made by all of the neighboring city/county police and sheriff departments who refused to send their officers to assist Portland police in working the riots. They would not subject their officers to the city sanctioned attack on the officers while giving the rioters a free pass.
That is why Brownstain had to send in the State Police to assist. Everyone else refused.
