Keep your gun and buy some goats. They can be had for cheap at livestock auctions and once they are done with your place you sell them to your neighbor, or just take them back to the auction. No fuel to go bad, no annual battery needs, no blades to sharpen, etc. Simple hot wire or 2 will or a dog chain to contain them, fill a water trough and let them eat.
