As a member of the SWCA I guess I've seen a fair number. I wouldn't call them common but I don't know as how I'd call them Very rare. Now, the Model 35 is what I would call "Very rare indeed". Another part of your ad I'd call rare but not the gun itself. Just needed to ask. Good Luck.
 
I think we see stuff differently. Smith and Wesson model 35 are way more common they made them for 20 years 1953 to 1973. The 2" 651-1 was only available for 2 years. Plus it's a 22lr. 22 magnums are always harder to find.
 
Seems we see things very different. How many 35s have you actually seen? They were cataloged for a number of years(20) but not actually manufactured for long. Most of the "J" Frame production Guns became the 2" or 4" Model 34. Some of the Guesstimates say less than 1,000 were actually produced.
