:s0153: Will these smart guns "beep" like a smoke detector at 3 AM when the battery is dead....
.... and, will "Manny Manbunn" even be able to hear it buried at the bottom of his "skinny-jeans" drawer? :s0092:

The president and top staff, will never be driven (escorted) in a self driven car or protected with smart guns. For a reason. Technology has its place but never when it can deny access in a life or death scenario.

What if the AI (Artificial Intelligence) in the gun takes it over and goes on a pew-pew spree just like in the movie Maximum Overdrive?

Then they could actually blame it on the gun and not the shooter like they do now.

I do not trust anything Electronic as it is, even though I do use Electronics but not to protect my life.

Heretic, thanks for the link.

I would not trust a so called 'smart gun' at all. I have said this in the past regarding these firearms and I will say it again.

I think that they are dumb.

With that said, if a person CHOOSES to buy this type of gun - let him or her BUY it.

Firearm companies should NOT be forced to make ALL of their guns into 'smart guns' no matter how many times the anti RKBA, Million Mommy and other groups promote this garbage!

I would not want one!

I would NOT suggest them to any person whether they were a Newbie in learning how to shoot guns safely/properly/responsibly or to some gal or guy who has shot a lot and often in a VERY responsible manner.

Every single one of us as a gun person was a NEWBIE at one time. As a kid or as an adult at ANY AGE. Would you want someone to tell you that these types of guns are SAFE and without flaws when your life depended on using one in a timely manner?!

I can guarantee you that most people who DEPEND on using firearms in their profession would NOT want one in the line of duty NOR would some very healthy or partially handicapped person want such a gun even if they only CHOSE TO OWN ONE FIREARM to have in their home! A lot of people don't 'carry' on a daily basis but they do have a firearm in their home.

An object can't be smart or dumb NO matter how OBJECTS are MARKETED or sold from boob tubes, other appliances that can FAIL easily, etc. and that INCLUDES firearms.

A human being can choose to be a SMART and SAFE gun person but that takes using their brain and COMMON sense!

Exercise personal responsibility when USING any object. And of you can't do that - do not own or use 'said object'!

I wouldn't want one to much room for error! I grew up playing halo so I may consider getting is a radetec digital display round counter! Just wish they looked cleaner !View attachment 1105414
I do not know what HALO is but if it is something that can FAIL electronically - I would not trust it with saving my life.

I will look it up so I know what HALO is.

I figured that you did not mean a halo above a picture of a Saint's head or that type of thing. (Church wise.)

I figured that you do not mean 'light' around the moon, stars, sun, foggy days, etc. too.

This!

Thank you.

Remember when 'smart' appliances, telephones, heating/cooling home and business systems, the internet, and many other things FAILED - completely stopped working and these stories were ALL over the news?!

Some were due to power outages and some were due to 'technical issues'. This happened in many states and not just in one specific geographical area of this country.

It was not too long ago. It happened much further back in the past too.

Heck, look at the one HUGE Japanese bank that was in the news yesterday and how many times that they have had massive issues! (Foreign and national news especially in financial papers - websites.) Constant issues on and off and not reliable for their Japanese AND foreign customers! They claim technical - computer issues. Bla and bla. FUBAR!

Zero worked. NO atm machines, no electronic payments, etc. The BANK told people to go inside of their banks to see a TELLER but the tellers could not even WORK their own systems and the consumer/customer was basically screwed!

I'll stick with my fool proof Gen. 3 G26 without all the electronic BS needed to fire the thing especially in a pinch. Plus I'm not wearing a watch like thing when I've already got a wrist watch on my left arm. If there's an RF signal emitted, it's a vulnerable point no matter the security methods used. Not that I don't like gadgets and such, but those "smart" guns are just a gimmick at best for the time being.

Not a big Glock fan but I think the G26 is an underrated firearm. Folks tend to think of it as a backup gun for people who carry a G19 or G17. It's more concealable than you think and much easier to shoot well than a micro gun. And to segue back to the subject, the factory sights, while not made for precision, are very fast on target and easy to see in poor lighting.

I get it, it's not everyone's favorite gun, call me a "Glock-tard" or whatever, but it's worked for me great IWB and OWB alike. As you said, I shoot my G26 much better than the micro guns like the P365 etc. However, the big takeaway here is to find what works for you and only you. Better not be a "smart" gun though lol

I spent forever looking for a new summer carry gun a few years ago. I must have tried half a dozen different guns. I needed it to not print, be comfortable to draw and shoot, hold more than 10 rounds, so on and so forth. And of course, I had to be fast and accurate with it. I was appalled when the G26 came out the clear winner, but I bought the damn thing anyway. I've never regretted it.

There is a law in CA that when smart technology is available , there will be no new guns added to the list that don't include that technology. The same is true of micro stamping. Before leaving CA for DC Harris enacted the micro stamping provision. Saying the technology is there. Last I heard it was still winding its way through the courts. This will be next. DR
