When we are going for a hike or site seeing I usually bring my camera with me in a small day pack made for carrying cameras. I am looking for a very small pack I can attach to the belt of the daypack to carry a small pistol (Kahr CM9 size). I would like it to quick open like a conceal carry fanny pack but I don't want to wear a fanny pack with my daypack. I would like something with belt loops that I can string the daypack waste band through. I am thinking around 4" x 7" dimensions approximately. I am not looking for something big enough to carry a compact like a Glock 19 or even a Glock 26.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I have looked at hundreds of packs on Amazon and they are all 7" x 9" or larger which is much bigger than what I want.

Those Sneaky Pete holsters are what I was looking for. I like that they have holsters specifically sized for a wide selection of pistols. Which now leaves me to decide which sub compact pistol I want to carry. I usually pocket carry my DB9 but I am thinking that with the holster sized to fit I would prefer carrying my hellcat. I also like the idea of carrying my Glock 27 which is 40 S&W and a decent step up in power. But I don't want it to be too clunky and intrusive making the Hellcat appealing.

Maybe get a small camera case with over the shoulder strap and carry the gun in that - in a holster of course for trigger safety.
My daypack is a Lowepro which has a Molle type mount system called ProTactic. I was looking at some of their compact camera cases with their ProTactic mounting flaps but I think I would prefer something that is quicker to open if needed.

Assuming you aren't appendix/iwb carrying because of the backpack belt, how about a chest rig, or a bino pouch? Also, look up "range finder" case. There lots of products for the hunting community, just harder to find if not-camo pattern.

Might be too wide for what you're looking for. Check to make sure strap is removable cuz the ones I have it is removable (has big belt loops) but videos on YouTube seem to show strap is attached to bag. Maybe newer versions don't have removable strap.

I always carry on body myself when hiking. I do not want to encounter any bad person and my pistol attached to my day pack.

Good luck finding something in the size you want. I personally carry my sidearm in a chestpack. I can remove by backpack and wander all over the place armed. It doesn't get in the way and actually allows carry of sidearm, spare mag, cell phone and other small gear. They come in different sizes too.

I dont recommend off body carry but if thats what you want the Wilderness Safepacker is designed exactly for concealed carry attached on the backpacks hip belt.
If you want on body concealed carry when hiking I recommend the Hill People Gear Kit Bags, they come in various sizes.
