Slow forum

Has anyone but me noticed that this forum seems to have slowed down considerably as in loading the page and being able to scroll through the posts. I see in the bottom right hand of the page all kinds of google.com things that are taking forever to load and slowing everything down. I wondered it was my ISP or browser and checked several other forums but they are running as normal. Maybe just a temporary thing??

I've noticed the exact same thing, thought it was my connection aswell.. I tried ad blocker enabled on this site with no improvements..

No problems here too using the Chrome browser. All of the Google leads ads in the right hand column load quickly for me.

I usually run Mozilla Firefox. I tried it with Chrome and it was loading quicker. I timed opening several different websites comparing the two browsers and couldn't detect any noticible differences except here on this site. It always has been a non-issue before recently.

I've had no trouble with speed from two different devices. However a few hours ago, no threads would open, just got a strange error message. It went on for about ab hour.

I'm using Firefox but Chrome is a much faster browser.
Regardless, this is the slowest forum to load. No offense, I'm here because its the greatest forum... but it loads slower than other forums I use.

Perhaps people should run the tracert command in Windows and post their results. Maybe that will give a clue if there is a network issue. I have Comcast, so I have a very fast ISP.

Thanks guys, all of this feedback helps. Especially important is which browser you're using, your ISP/connection speed, and whether you notice anything specific which takes a long time to load.

Once we're on NWFA 3.0 we'll begin further speed optimization.

I don't know enough about computers to know what makes them struggle with certain sites. My home computer does okay with this site, although as different ads are loading, the display jumps up and down quite a bit. Just when I'm clicking on something, the display jumps up or down to make room for the ads that are slower than others, and often I end up clicking where I don't want to.

One of my tablets will not run this site at all, whereas my other tablet, although slow with this site, does better til it's overwhelmed with the ad loading, then it just freezes up.

My wifes smarter-than-me phone will not run this site.

So, knowing what it is, I just make sure my business here is conducted on my home computer, or the one tablet that will load this site.

If it is all the google ads hosted on doubleclick.net that are generating these slow downs, I don't know if the folks at northwestfirearms can do much of anything.

The site works great for me on Firefox.

I don't get any ads.

Had this problem a while back, never did figger' it out.

Then replaced computer.........and no ads again.
