Every so often, SilencerCo offers a BOGO on their suppressors. So, a buddy of mine was asking me for a recommendation, and at the time, their BOGO was going on. So, I recommended that route, as he wanted a rimfire suppressor I believe for his 10/22. He ordered this in July of 2023. A year almost to the date of his purchase date, he reached out to get status or an estimated ship date, and attached is his response from them. Just figured I'd share his experience with you in case you were thinking about going that route in the near future. I can promise you they'll never see another penny from me or my buddy. To have over a year delay in their ship time would be one thing, but such a bubblegumty response to a customer puts you in a completely different category. Kinda sucks, the hybrid 46 was the first suppressor I ever purchased.

Wow! That is a very poor response.

Does not seem like a good way to operate a business. Over promise and under deliver.

I have several of their suppressors. Will remember this next time I'm in the market for such products.

They've been outstanding to deal with when clients damaged their suppressors, or we found an issue with the product. We've easily sold 1000 SCO cans, and own them personally as well. Each time they've done a BOGO it's taken a year or so for all the BOG cans to arrive. Coupled with the massive shortage of suppressor across the board since the quick return started, its not a huge surprise. Their statement is pretty fair and reasonable, and it looks like your dealer hasn't complied with the documentation request either, and nothing can be shipped without that.

Yep, the last two sentences are telling another story.

This is a well known problem with the SICo BoGo promotions they have run. When the form 4 wait times were longer, it was insult to injury having to wait 1yr+ for your free can to show up to your dealer to then have to hurry up and wait another 6mo. - 1yr+ for the form 4 approval to come back. You can find more info on past promo's via a google search for posts on other forums if you want more details.

Yeah, we learned this lesson the hard way about 6 years ago. We would front the customer the FREE can at the time of purchase, as our SCO rep said they would ship the BOGO can 6-8 weeks after submitting the form, figured it would help customer getting things done a the same time (save us paperwork, etc). After about 4 months we stopped fronting the BOGO can, and waited nearly 16 months to get our money back on about 150 suppressors we fronted. My mistake, we don't do that anymore.

I'm very amused at the number of times that email mention "free silencer" kind of like they're saying "bro, you're getting a free silencer, quit complaining"

A simple "We have no ETA. Here's the link to check status" would have sufficed and not come off like snotty pricks.

I get it, it's "free". That doesn't entitle them to be condescending. He had to pay good money on their products for that "free" can.

It wasn't 'free'. Without that promo, he saves his money or goes another route. Maybe not, but you can't say it didn't weigh heavily on his choice.
So also maybe give an estimated ship date with the promo. Not some noncommittal BS about shipping as soon as you possibly can. This order was made 6 months before the ATF speedvalve turned on. Don't be bubblegums to good paying customers in this industry.

Good reason to just not do these promos. I have bought through Silencer shop before but never bought one of these from rhem. The "free" can isn't worth it for all of this mess. If you are going to do a promo then you should have prepared for it and had built up inventory to meet the projected demand. They all do this, but I would rather have $200 off the price of a can than to go through this. Sh**ty business practice if you ask me.
