When it comes down to it, I'll put my M&P pro with the Trigicon RMR on it up against is cute little SIG any day. Mr. Plastic Fantastic has a way of making everyone jealous, even pretty boy SIGS

Now M&P pro IS a mans gun. I fell in love with mine right away. I shoot that and start feeling pretty damn good about my accuracy. I need to add better sights. My eyes aint what they used to be but other than that it is probably my favorite all around pistol I have.

Really??!! If anyone deserves a little harassment back who better than me? If I could not take crap back I would stay off this site!
Sometimes....Just sometimes MR Just Jim I flip people crap....Every great once in a while. So I MIGHT be ok with it being flipped back.

It seems to me a lot of guys change guns like women change shoes, what is the fashion today? I am an old fart and tend to look for what has worked over time. Guns are just each man's opinion and some men shoot a lot and others dont.

I do change my favorite often. Cannot help it when I shoot something that just screams CARRY ME.
It would be cruel not to right? I try and then sell quite a few. Over the years CZ has remained the top contender but I like me some new shiny shoes.

It is not as bad as the wives shopping sprees though. She comes home with bags of shoes and then returns most of them. I guess shoes fit different in the store than they do in our home.

If she don't make your sticker peck out... Well only thing I can figure is it must not work at all without a little blue pill. In which case maybe you do need the SIG.

I have strong opinions on guns but they are formed over years of shooting. Taurus guns are not what I would want. The model they have that works the best is their 92 yet I know of no police departments that carry it. Sigs are carried by a number of agencies.

Guy buys a new gun to him and he goes out and shoots it a bit and forms a love affair. Most people don't test their guns or themselves to see how they measure up to stress. Competition is the best test of gun and man. Most guys will never compete so they won't have real competency with the gun.

You want to win a fight you need to be competent with your weapons and know how you will deal with stress.

Just my opinion, and it's worth what you paid for it.:D

You never know if or when you're going to need your 'fun gun'. I want every gun I own to go bang every time. Unreasonable, due to the fact that firearms are mechanical devices with many variables, but it helps to start with a Toyota over a Yugo :)

I've never owned a Taurus, but I've shot quite a few. Most were fine, but I've had more issues with Taurus auto's than any other, landing it on the 'no thanks' list. I've owned many, many Sigs and I've never had a single issue. All of mine have been used, purchased for $500-$650 with low round counts. Not sure what the used market is like right now, but I'd rather have a ratty old Sig than three brand new Taurus guns. Might also see if there are any police trade-ins floating around.

@$#& bubblegum. The range was reserved today. Won't get a chance to try them out before next week. There is also a Portland gun show this weekend. Was planning on checking that out Sunday and hopefully picking something up.

Will probably go with a Sig. New or used. Just looking for the best deal. Thanks to everyone for your input, except all the guys that gave responsible advice. Seriously? I left home to get away from my mommy. Just want to say thanks to the Real men who said, do what you want and drink beer. At least that's what I thought I heard.

I have never experienced "buyers remorse" with any of my Sigs. You can probably tell I am a bit of a Sig fan boy, but that's because of the quality and versatility I have found in their lineups. You cant go wrong with a Sig. I have and have had 220's, 1911's, 226's, 227's, 2022's and 320's . There are 6 handguns in my collection that never go up for trade 5 of them are Sigs.

Buy the Sig. ;)

I'm a fanboy, as well - I own 10 Sigs :p

The only one I didn't like was the P290. I sold it after the first time I shot it. Just didn't fit my hand.

I've owned Sig and Taurus handguns. Fit and finish can't be compared - Sig certainly wins there, and should, considering the added cost. But that said, I've not been disappointed with the Taurus guns I've owned. They are a bit rough, yes, but they never failed to function. YMMV.

I simply think of Taurus as a budget gun. If you only have $300-400 tops to spend, then it may be the right gun. If you can afford a Sig (or Beretta or some others), then go for it and enjoy it. I don't expect more of them than they are worth, but I do expect them to function reliably, which they always have done for me.

I kind of think of Taurus like the Remington 870 Express versus the Sig as the 870 Wingmaster. Both may look very similar, and may even function identically, but the finish, detail and operation of the Wingmaster, when compared side by side to the Express, well, you can tell the difference. Both can do the job you need them to do, but likely only one will be truly appreciated and treasured ;)

I love my M&P Pro. I can only imagine how sweet it'd be with an RMR!

I have a Mitchell Arms Luger that can't get through a full mag without a malfunction. I hang onto it because I like it despite the fact that I don't shoot it.

Those are stainless aren't they? I too have a couple of guns I don't trust yet haven't got rid of. One is a browning high power depose, love the feel of it but won't run a full mag without a jam. Hope to fix it someday.

Yes, stainless. I mostly buy stainless guns now.

I don't think any of the Luger replicas really ever work well (the originals didn't work that well either from what I gather), but I would be satisfied if it could feed a full mag most of the time. I've tried different mags and every kind of ammo, from cold to hot, and no joy.

When I was a kid we would play "Army" and watch "Combat!" at a neighbors farm, and the kids there had a die cast Luger toy gun. I loved it - the feel and the balance is just right for me - same with the MA replica. So I hang onto it - hoping someday I can find a Luger specialist that knows how to make it work most of the time. It was never meant to be a defensive gun, just something I bought because I wanted it and childhood memories.
