I have been wanting to purchase a used Sig 225 for a long time now and am discovering that the Sig P6 seems to be more available and a little cheaper. Is there any real difference between the two besides the obvious hammer? I really like the single stack Sigs!
The P6 has a different hammer spring with a heavier DA pull. Pre '89 P6's have a different feed ramp angle which might make hollow point ammo feeding unreliable. The P6 is a German police contract gun and they all come used. While the P225 is out of production there are still some new ones to be had. They are both great. All in all the real difference is usually about 200-300 bucks.
Thanks for the input fellas, you have made my decision to purchase a P6 a lot easier and put my fears to rest. I have a P220 and a P226 and absolutely love them!
Thanks Again, this is a great site!
