I really like the idea of these, but have heard they have FTF issues. How does this one fair?

I've neither heard of or had no issues with the Gen. 2 556R. The bad reputation comes from the Gen. 1's. Feeding, ejecting, and magazine well wear were all issues. Gen. 2 fixed all of that.

What did the rifle come with? Iron sights or the sig red dot? Does it come with either?

It came with the Sig red dot, but I no longer have that. Lets just say that something of that quality did not belong on such a nice rifle. If that is a deal breaker I'd be happy to try and negotiate a lower price given the lack of sights.
