After all the good things I said about my SIG 938, it does have one issue, that the recoil rod backs out of its base. i have cleaned and used loctite blue on it and it still unscrewed itself after 50 rounds or so the other day. Do I need to go to red or is there another solution?
I have about 350 rounds through mine and have not had that problem yet, But I will keep an eye out now. Just checked and mine is tight. Might need to give Sig a call.
I would agree with the acetone/IPA cleaning followed by Red. I prefer to use Isopropanol after acetone to clear the residue it can leave. I've been waiting for mine to do this, but after 800 or so rounds all I've managed to make fall out is a solitary grip screw. The red should hold up fine, we use it at work in some pretty high impact applications.
