Sidewalk finds

I walk a lot, and take tri-met often.
I tend to find a lot of unique items, and have tried to train myself to look for certain things (like hunting small animals, look for the shape of the animal, not necessarily the color), and I do get lucky sometimes. Like today:

Not much of a numismatist, but I can tell it's solid silver. Haven't weighed it yet. Happy with it!

Cool find!! It is a Morgan Dollar. 90% silver, 10% copper. Looks like in "Good" condition.
What is the letter above the space between the "D" and "O" in DOLLAR on the reverse?? "S" means it was minted in San Fransisco, "O" means minted in New Orleans and no letter means Philadelphia. Philadelphia ones are quite rare. Value about $20 unless Philadelphia minted, in which case about $100.

From experience turning in a bunch of old silver coins. You have a 119 YO dollar that's worth roughly $10.00- $20.00. Difference being if sold to a collector or a silver coin buyer.

I knew an old retired guy that would go for his morning exercise walks behind pubs and bars early in the morning at daylight and he found all sorts of cash and other stuff in the parking lots that drunk people would drop out of their pockets as they were getting into their cars.
