Index finger unless you are choking up for fine work, then your middle finger. You will notice a smaller grove in front of it for your index finger when choking up.

That's a handsome 14! Did you use cold blue or disassemble and rust blue? Either way it's certainly good looking.

Custom made by Caleb of St Maries Idaho. I asked for a spring steel knife so he used a rusty leaf spring a mid 50's GM truck. He supplied me with modeling clay and once i'd made a few forms, he sized the grip.

Blued tang, I gave him some fossilized walrus tusk that I got years ago in Alaska to make the scales, he hand made the sheath.

The background book in the pics is Day of Deceit - good read on the duplicity of power politics.

Every knife fan should have a bloody Mora stashed somewhere. I still keep one handy in the shop and the truck. They are not my favorite to sharpen, but you'd be hard pressed to fine a better knife for the money.

+1 for the Mora.
I have a lot of nicer US fighting knives, bayonets in the collection. Ontario, Kabar, Benchmade, etc.
The ones I actually use are the Morakniv. Got a few stashed around in my truck and book bag and at work. They are great knives and stay sharp.

I cold blued with Super Blue, took about 4 coats with fine steel wool in between coats.

Thank you. It's 1084 high carbon steel. The handle is stag and African black wood with copper liners and pins. 6in blade and a bit over 10in overall. File work and jimping as well.
