Run of the mill M4 carbine for a run of the mill kinda guy!

I probably need to add a red dot or reflex sight... and the sling is definitely not standard issue, home made actually.
:s0114:

Guess I need to start that A2 build..

I unknowingly stumbled into a new Clone...
Evidently the CASV-EL was part of a Navy EOD gun...
So I'm working on one of these now...

As you can see, I have work to do.
I have a bead on the Insight M6X and I'm just going to Kote the rail FDE.
If anybody has a tan Grip Pod or Arredondo magwell, I'd be obliged;)
Also need some CASV rail sections.

Mail brought my Insight M6X yesterday:s0151:
Sooo I did a little wrenching on the EOD
I tried on the clone correct ARMS #40... but I like the GG&G better so I'm calling a mulligan and running it..It is just superior in every way... plus Iron Monster gave it to me, so it needs to be on a cool build.
a guy on TOS is sending me the proper magwell and a salty Grip Pod for the cost of shipping and a case of Natty Light... a little bit of elbow grease and paint and it'll be close! Form1 and a Magpul M93 stock will be far future hurdles. Here's a pic with the clone correct ARMS#40 rear BUIS...
It's fine, but look at how much better the GGG looks. 98ED8874-10C2-4121-A054-B4EA34919667.jpeg 59A138D7-706D-496B-B87A-2FFAFCD7BBC9.jpeg

Just tryin' to watch your back, amigo :) -- pre rule-change, my 10.3 even with LAW and A5 tube was 25.925 from end to crown.
Just double checked, and from the end of brace to end of muzzle is 27.75"
Subtracting the 1" that the brace sticks past the tube I'm well in the green at 26.75"+:s0155:

Got the Arredondo and Grip pod installed
Now it just needs some FDE paint:s0155:
I'll drop an EO 512 or Comp M2 on there when I can swing it.

Still wish we could find you an FDE CASV rather than ruining Black Beauty there... I'll see if I have any spare rail sections and get back to you, as soon as I figure out how far down they're buried.

It's not strictly "Clone Correct," but as soon as I finish color-filling the engravings this is the lower the C8's going to be reassembled around so I can repo my Aero M4 and get back to work on *that* clone. (The GF's a huge Resident Evil fangirl...)

Another pic as I fight with that big Umbrella "billboard"... C8 left, M4 right--diss the anti-walk FCG pins all you like, but I've found them to add a convenient lubrication port. Still working on color-filling the Umbrella Corp. engravings. Oh, to have the fine motor skill of a quarter century ago in my model-building days...

Looking good!
Love the Umbrella corp idea!

To be able to paint mustaches on 1/72 scale again!

Yeah, been trying to get an Umbrella lower for the GF for three years now (I *did* mention she's a huge Resident Evil fan with a serious ladyboner toward Milla Jovovich, right?), and this year's batch finally dropped at a time where we could join the Cool Kids. :)

1/72 mustaches? Try canopies and engines on 1/700 WWII fighters... :p Damn hand tremors. :( Also, build-sheet on page 2 updated.

Update on the C8:

References are in the hands of the pro shop, as soon as Dave tells me he has matches picked and gives me an estimate I'll start the long trek across Concrete Jungle Hell again to get the correct green furniture set up.
