Let's see your favorite gun- be it a handgun, rifle, shotgun, black powder or whatever. But don't just show us- tell us why it is your favorite. It doesn't have to be the one you shoot most often, or the best or even anything fancy; the one you like the most. It doesn't even have to make sense, it can be for a silly or sentimental reason. I'll start-

This is a Cimarron Richards-Mason replica in .38 Special that Linda bought me for Christmas one year. Originally it had a 7-1/2" barrel and a stock 'plow-handle' grip but my wife encouraged me to 'make it my own.' It's the first gun that I did serious modifications to, and we both loved the results. It's a great shooter and fits my hand like a glove. I've always had an affinity for 19th C. revolvers and snubbies and this gun combines them. More than that it gave me a new creative outlet and the confidence to take on more ambitious projects.

My all around hands down favorite rifle of all time.
Its the rifle I shoot the best and the one I reach for , when someone says: "Lets go shooting."
It has accounted for many a small rock , spent shot shell , black powder competition , grouse , deer , bear and elk.
My Hawken Rifle Copy.
Made by Loren "Doc" Brown in 1997 and I bought it new from him in '97.
.54 caliber Orion barrel , 36 inches in length
Stock of local walnut ... came from a tree that was hit by lighting.
Davis lock and triggers.
My load : 80 grains of 2F , .15 patch and a .530 round ball . This is my one load ... it seems to work on everything.

Probably my sam7sf. Buttstock is nato length not midget spec as with your standard Warsaw stocks. Beefy, well made, recoil is nothing; fallow up shots are fast compared to a stamped receiver. Definitely my shtf rifle.

For favorite Handgun ... its my Colt Series 70 ( made 1972) in .45 ACP.
Top one in the picture.
It is the first gun I shot and it belonged to my Dad.
No modifications have been done to the Colt , except to replace the smooth Colt grips with a pair of Checkered Walnut grips.
I enjoy shooting it and shoot it well .... Plus I think of my Dad whenever I use this pistol.

My favorite, shoot a mag every week, and spends each and every night in my nightstand.
Cleaned and oiled once a month, she's as good as new. Perfection in 380.

I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite. If it serves me well for the task intended, then on that day, its my favorite.

But one of my favorites I had a chance to hold and watch the old timer shoot is this old 1911. It has a history of being used in WW2. By the guys father. Larry has a one handed stance with one hand on his hip shooting to the side. He wasn't a bad shot. He had a great collection, cool oddball calibers, and into reloading. One of my parents friends. A good old boy with some farm land.

Best of all I got my stepfather out shooting, practicing safe firearm procedure and he was feeling much better about shooting and handling his Walther p38 and Rem mod 10 Shotgun.

I wont even say the story behind the notches on the handle. But dam.

1903 Mark I target rifle.
Redfield aperture sight, factory rear removed.
Lyman front sight.
Aftermarket trigger. Can't remember which brand, but it's about a 3lb single stage pull.
03a3 handguard

Shoots better than I can with iron sights.

Probably my 'Buffalo Bill' Winchester 30-30. From day one it was an excellent shooter, great balance with the heavier 20" octagon barrel and very smooth action. Adding the Williams turned it into a tackdriver and its like put the bead into the circle and whatever it's aimed at splinters!

Not to repost (i have to take new pictures) but my 1903 mk 1 springfield. Tried forever for that finger groove, springfield bayonet RIA leather sheeth, weird stamped but definately old sling

Always an involuntary smile whenever i taker out IMG_0677.JPG

Gun Porn? Ok, I'll play. This thread got me to thinking. I've got two favorites. A favorite to shoot and a favorite as in it's be the last gun I'd ever let go.

First the shooter. 1895 guide gun in 450 marlin. Just ridiculous boom out of an 18 inch ported barrel and slinging a bullet more the size of an ashtray than a projectile (for us civilians anyway).

Next would be the favorite. Model 1894 in 30-30. Its killed more deer than I've even heard of (none by me, I should fix that). My great grandfather bought it new. In 1897.

I would have to pick my MP5. I've been to Turkey and Germany a few times as a kid and I rememner the police carrying MP5s. Between that and Die Hard 1 and 2, I've always wanted a MP5 and I finally got one last year.

Lordy where do I begin? (molon abe by-the-way)

I know these current politicians hated the Vietnam war, and everything associated with it. I suspect that's an underlying reason they despise the black rifle so much.

Although I may not look it, I'm smiling on the inside.

Some have told me this is the most impractical pistol existant, and wondered why I would buy this. Answ: because I want it (and that should be reason enough). Gets kind of heavy to hold up during the last couple rounds though (needs to eat me more spinach).

Wow! A real piece of work here. If only I had this years ago when my eyes were better. Have a red dot sight mount now, gonna be a great bullseye pistol.

Last MSR purchased prior to July 2019 (you should know what the date represents). Man-oh-man these are fun!
