I'm loading for a savage 111 300wm. I'm using rem brass. I've read a bunch about bumping the shoulder back for a bolt gun and all sorts of techniques. I tried the one where the neck gets smoked with a candle flame and the soot gets pushed down the neck to the shoulder when setting up the die. (soot never was pushed all of the way to the shoulder before the shell holder was touching the base of the die) I backed out the lee FL die to the point where it would just pop the primer out (shell holder not touching the die) and the sized case seemed to chamber without any resistance. (The first 2 times I reloaded this brass I had to trim a couple thousandths off each time with the dies set up per Lee directions.) This is the first bolt gun I've loaded for. I'm trying not to buy a bunch of expensive tools. Thanks in advance!
