Years ago when the Clintons gave China technology and special trade rights it sealed our fate. Today China has the fastest Super computor in the world. They have production and labor and have bought up raw materials for years in advance. They have beaten us with our own capitalism and we are going into socialism oweing the Chinese huge amounts of money. Too late for concern. Their military is the least of your worries, better worry about food on the table.

The chinese have been competing with us for years. We come out with something new and they have to try and one up it. Their latest fighter jet is a result of our new f35 fighter jet that we have been working on for 10 years.

China stands very little to gain in a Military action against the US... Why fight us when they have us by the balls financially? We are their biggest customer in almost all aspects. I'd expect harsh rhetoric if say, we are forced to take military action against the North Koreans, but little more.

The other thing is- the US military is vastly superior to every other army on earth. No other force can project power with such fury and in so little time.

This bomber will probably bankrupt them...it costed the US like $138 million for a single F-22 fighter (click). If it is anything in comparison to the F-22, I doubt they'll have anymore than a few of these things.

As for the anti-carrier missle thingy....good luck with that. The sea whiz can shot down any missle short of a WMD.

On a side note, I just read an article at home their 1-child only law has an unexpected side effect of creating more male children than females (mainly due to abandonment, adoption and murdering their child once they realize they're female). By 2020, they expect to have 24 million more males than females! Talk about your sexual frustration!

Ground invasion of America is futile and a death wish for ground soldiers. We'd be nuked before we get ground invasion. That's my opinion.

As other people said, China wants us to keep giving them money so attacking us is unproductive.

IMO,
China should be what keeps us up at night, not Al-Kaida. Their standing army is many times greater than ours (and is not deployed all over the world). They have a relationship with N. Korea that they may defend. And they do have potential gain--we are the 2nd biggest consumer of natural resources (they overtook us recently). So, in the long term, we are a threat to their well being & growth.
The middle east is just a situation created for the military. We should be thinking about China.

For years the US has been sending our technology to China. When you combine that with China's population, you will probably have the most powerful nation on earth! Then it could probably be: "Adios, America!"

I have to chuckle about the comments being made about China. I travel to China a couple of times a year for business and I have been doing for over 15 years. They currently have the largest dam in the world 2 out of the 5 largests buildings in the world and super highways we only dream about. So don't think for a minute that there Steath Fighter is a piece of crap. The reality is they have our nuts in a vise as they own almost 20% of our national dept. If they wanted to take us over they would not need to fire a shot. Just call in the note on our dept and surely our financial system would collapse. My 2 cents.

When China stopped buying US Treasury securities, the Fed had to print money to buy them. The media made it look like a good move, but all we did was inflate our currency. Quantitative Easing (QE) I has done, now QE II is taking place while they are talking about QE III. Running the printing presses at full blast has no good that I can see. Also, China, along with Russia, Brazil and several other countries turning away from using the US dollar as the world's reserve currency is another potential economic disaster for this country.

The military prowess of the US has been on full display in the middle east. I think that countries like China and Russia have kept their cards close to their chest, giving us no idea what they are really capable of. That missile off the coast of California may well have been a display of a Chinese radar-evading submarine; the shifting explanations given by the media was just too oddball for me.

China has the lion's share of the rare metals we need to build advanced electronics, they have advanced computer skills and I have no doubt their new fighter will perform well. As for the Anti-carrier missile, it is probably based ion the Soviet SS-NX-13, which was a ballistic missile which goes into sub-orbital flight, locates a carrier task force by radar, and homes in on the carrier, since it has a HUGE radar cross section when seen from above. We used to joke that from our position as part of the anti-submarine screening force we would be at the edge of the fireball..not in it.

An interesting article on the DF-21D ASBM:

Should we be worried? Yes, but not necessarily about China. China is the up and coming super power. We can probably expect them to hold for the next 100 years or so the position the US is now relinquishing. Our economic mess means we're pretty much through as the world super power. Yes, we've still got a military, but so did the USSR after it collapsed. Be worried about how far we're going to fall rather than how far China will rise.
