I would be worried about china but I would be more worried about Israel and Iran too... oh and lets not forget Mexico. My number 1 concern is here in America.... my concern is the American people because it appears that we have our heads in the sand and we just stay bent over and take it up the back by our government. It worries me that we the people won't stand up and protect our constitutional rights. Look at how things are going in europe..... people are taking to the streets while we are worried about what girl or guy to have sexual relations with.... we worry about weather or not our DVRs recorded that one episode of house, we are distracted by sports and free food. That is what worries me the most.... If China wants to F with us.... well I for one am ready to defend my country as long as I don't get nuked or have some biological/chemical out brake. I am worried about the TSA coming to our local Walmarts and turning us against each other and training us to be snitches. No doubt if you truly see something that could be a threat to the country that you should report it, but at Walmart? come on. We should be worried about the media brain washing us.... we should be concerned about the fluoride in our waters, we should be concerned about the unknown poisons in your vaccines that we expose ourselves and our kinds to. I can't even chew over the counter gum because of the aspartame in it.
I AM WORRIED ABOUT MY GUN RIGHTS BEING TAKEN AWAY AND BEING TURNED INTO A SLAVE

I have to chuckle about the comments being made about China. I travel to China a couple of times a year for business and I have been doing for over 15 years. They currently have the largest dam in the world 2 out of the 5 largests buildings in the world and super highways we only dream about. So don't think for a minute that there Steath Fighter is a piece of crap. The reality is they have our nuts in a vise as they own almost 20% of our national dept. If they wanted to take us over they would not need to fire a shot. Just call in the note on our dept and surely our financial system would collapse. My 2 cents.

Good points, but the last time I checked our national debt was about 20 trillion and the Chinese are holding a bit over a trillion, so that would make it about 6% of our national debt.

Their rapid innovations are pretty scary. They're even attempting (or already have) a blue water navy. But the good news is we may not need to worry about an EMP attack from China, they could just reroute all of our communications through their country and know whats going on! (http://www.popsci.com/science/artic...d-15-percent-internet-last-spring-report-says) Think of how many stupid people there would be if they couldn't google their stupid questions.

Their is a lot of interesting information to absorb from these posts.
1. It's good to see people are paying attention.
2. John Wheeler, once head of our cyber warfare was founded murdered & dumped in a landfill & it hasn't hardly hit the news.
3. We are at war & not all of the enemies are external.
Thanks for the thoughts TOVO, JIMWSEA, MA DUCE, etc..
One thing that must be considered when we talk about other nations attacking the USA is that we look at Cost & Gain... They don't! Most of the nations that threaten us are driven by IDEOLOGY! To them the primary gain is one of idealogical dominance, the destruction of the west... proves they are right (to them). When someone is driven by ideology & collective brain washing, rational has little to do with it.

Nothing to worry from China, the US government will destroy this country far sooner and more thoroughly than any foreign invader could.

Your forget that when our ancestors were living in caves - killing animals and each other with clubs- the Chinese were inventing gunpowder- rockets- firearms !

The US under the Current President will probably surrender to the Chinese and ask for mercy - Uncle Barack is just going to sell us down the road. And the Chinese should be viewed as our greatest enemy. They have more people in the restrooms in China then we have in our entire Country. Never doubt China- they are dangerous- but the current administration is even more dangerous. Their aim is to make the US a second rate country - for the Commies to rule the world - just look at Hilary - the biggest commie yet.

There sure are a lot of strident voices here about the danger posed by China - when was the last time y'all visited Asia, BTW?

My background: Scientist, aerospace 15yrs., and yes, those heady Lockheed days were among them.

Regular traveler to Asia: Korea, China, and Japan. More than two dozen professional trips in the past five years or so.

Do we here believe that China does NOT have the right to provide their own counterbalance to the US military? Should they simply sit back and say, "Beacon of freedom, light of the world, we can trust those guys." Hm?

Now when was the last time China engaged in an armed incursion outside its borders? Vietnam - on both sides of the fighting, actually - and India, in 1962, was it? Before then and around the time I was hatching there was Korea. See any common thread there? They're all border states.

Over that same period, how many nations has the US sent troops into? How many were on our borders? You get my drift.

China will not attack Taiwan or Japan or Korea because it's BAD FOR BUSINESS. They are captives of the US Treasury as much as they are its masters, because that 1.6 trillion in USD-denominated debt that they hold could be wiped away with the stroke of an electronic pen, if push came to shove.

Besides, a real shootin' war would utterly devastate the overextended Chinese infrastructure, which barely functions on the best of days. The Communist Party would fall in the revolution that would follow the famine and chaos of war, and that's the worst imaginable outcome for those supremely self-interested "leaders."

Please believe me when I say that a short, nation-versus-nation, all-out war is exactly the scenario for which the US military is best prepared, and one that we would not lose. We might not win, of course, like if it goes strategic-nuke, but such a scenario would be suicide for China. They know it.

Quit trying to disprove our theories with your logic!

Many of you are falling into a trap focusing on military hardware and defense capability.

Chinese gov. ministry of education is subsidizing US public schools who have mandarin language programs:

China-sponsored language programs in U.S. raise concerns, hopes - CNN.com

$30K for a single school in Ohio. The Chinese gov. also suggests curriculum for the cultural social studies courses included.
I learned some Mandarin as a kid, and would encourage others to do the same, but the money source is creepy. Not to mention US public schools are being paid to indirectly promote communism.

Rather than worry about which battle rifle to bury in the backyard, we need to address this socially, esp. with our children.

And I would pose, as a question, what I wrote earlier in this thread...how well do you know the military capability of the Chinese? They may well have gone low-key.

You have to remember that its made in China. Will probably fall apart after a few days

Not if what they make isn't made to satisfy a foreign specification, which usually goes to money. Chinese make cheap garbage when the price offered if for cheap garbage. They can make high quality stuff anytime they are paid for it.

Your forget that when our ancestors were living in caves - killing animals and each other with clubs- the Chinese were inventing gunpowder- rockets- firearms !

I recently read a piece about the history of black powder that refuted that. For one thing, Marco Polo made no mention of BP and it should have been common if it were true. The author suggested that possibly the Arabs came up with it first. But even if the supposed time of the Chinese discovery of BP were correct, Europeans were way ahead of China in many areas, and far from being cave dwellers.

the us military maybe be scattered by some peoples definition, but to me it seems like they are a much harder target with military bases who knows where. I hate this whole global economy, global warming bs, man behind the curtain, federal reserve, socialism crap as much as the next guy but our biggest issue is that our "leaders" are pussies and care more about their own agenda and staying in their cushy government positions than anything else. We let foreigners over the border, then catch them, feed them and clothe them for months then send them back first class to wherever they came from because its racist to do otherwise.

china is growing too fast in my opinion and they will bite off more than they can chew one of these days. Think of it this way, most of our politicians are crooks and idiots, just imagine how many more crooks and idiots they have in office with their massive population and insane regulations.

I recently heard that China NEEDS to have double digit ergonomic growth EVERY YEAR to keep the "recently awoken" working masses over there from going into revolution. The Chinese peasants have had a taste of what it is to earn money and be ale to have some of the modern things we take for granted... like eating regularly. They won't be able to sustain double digit growth... not for long anyway.

Dunno if you should be worried - but I sure am. China is pretty much moving in to the US in a big way. They are buying up oil leases in Texas, and .gov is setting up "Free Trade Zones" in all 50 states for them. The one the furthest along seems to be Boise. Idaho had to change their state constitution to set this up. All hush hush and quiet like. These FTZ's are to be considered foreign soil, and the chinese will set up self sufficient cities within them, bring in their own people to perform whatever jobs are created. The stated purpose of these FTZ's is to allow the Communist Chinese to bring in parts, and assemble goods for distribution in the US - what the real reason would be, I can only guess. I don't have the links here at work, but a quick web search should bring up more info on this for you. I know, don't believe everything you read on the web, but if this is true, it looks very very bad to me. I read a post on Wide Awake News this morning from one of the gun lobbies that ties this in to colonization and gun confiscation.

And while I'm at it... Having the Communist Chinese flag centered between and above two flags of the United States of America behind BHO during the communist dictators visit to DC really rubs me the wrong way.

Here ya go - found the link...

This link explains it all. How talking heads like Trump are spewing forth lies. Our real enemies are right here at home. The banksters at the Federal Reserve, not some country that has been boosted up by them since the 70s.

I would not be concerned about the Chinese unless they transition to a free market society. The major drawback to any totalitarian society is the absence of a driving force for innovation. Without it native born progress is nearly stopped and most of progress comes from the outside.
The biggest thing to worry about is internal destruction. This is how most nations disintegrate or morph into something else. Drastic examples of this can be studied when examining 20th century history of Germany, Russia and China. External change would be Japan (after WWII the US removed the emperor and installed a constitutional government, thus changing the structure).

History is littered with former empires that grew and then collapsed.
