Oh i see, yeah the open end cases that fold over always give a little extra room due to that fastening type.


I haven't seen any break-down cases suggested, i'm assuming they're not too common?

The only shotgun I have stands behind the door. I don't hunt birds or shoot clay, so I know very little about them.

Walmart, Cabelas, pawn shop, the list goes on. I have numerous "long" cases. TOW and some others had them for muzzle loaders (56' and above). They are out there!

Should fit at an angle. They are built tough and a cross between a hard case and a soft case. I have a 36" and 46" for about ten years, put a lot of miles on it and is still going strong.

Looks like this might be suitable, Sportsmans has it in for a reasonable price. I think the hard case would be classy, but taking down a semi-auto and reassembling (at least on this gun) is a PITA - it's bad enough i can't put it in my safe when it's assembled (#firstworldproblems)
