I actually had about 200 federal primers explode almost in my face about 6 months back I'm lucky 2 still have my right hand will not use federal ever again... I have photos of hand but way torn up for a post here
Years ago I saw I guy who worked in a commercial reloading business who had that happen to him. His right arm was bandaged all the way up to his elbow. For quite some time.

How did this many primers 'explode' all at once?
One goes, then the rest nearby go off in sympathetic ignition. It's discussed in some of the reloading books but fortunately doesn't occur very often. I guess that's why they've changed primer packaging over the years. They used to come in smaller flats, in rows of 10 on their sides next to each other. These days most I've seen are packed in trays where each primer is isolated. It's also the reason Lee redesigned their hand priming tool.

I was using a hand primer tool and the small pistol primer caught on the edge of the primer pocket hole as I was applying my pressure and boom 💥
It blow up the remote that was about 9 inches away from my on the table and sent primers into my roof and everywhere else and all of the primers had ignited all the little tumblers was out of them and completely cleaned out of the powder..
