Depends on what you call around Mt Angel? Everything for 20 miles is private property or state parks land.

The only place I know about is estacada and that's about 100 mile round trip. I heard that there was a place near Scott's mills but never where it actually is.

If you travel up Crooked Finger Rd there will be some gravel pits along the way. But be advised they can be pretty wild at times and they are private property.
