Shooting in the Tahuya Nat. Forest WA

I was told by a gun shop near Belfair that I can target shoot in an area off of Hurd Rd. I have seen a map where it is called the Mission Hurd shooting area. I drove out to Hurd Rd today and went down about three miles. The guy at the gun shop said it wasn't too far down the road. Well, we couldn't find any place in the three miles we drove. Only signs we saw was no shooting or dumping. Any one know where the shooting area is?

There was some talk about developing a designated shooting area up there.

Haven't heard a word since sometime in '17. DNR was talking of dropping in 2 ranges but no word on if they have chosen the final locations. Shooting also happens at the Shoo Fly pit and I'm sure other places. I haven't been there but am interested to hear what's going on.

I fish out at the mouth of the Skokomish river and have heard from some locals that the snowflakes are crying pretty loud about any progress for new shooting areas near them.

And you know it's pretty damn sorry that an established trains that is been in an area for over a hundred years is under Fire because of the noise.

In my minds thinking if I were looking for a new residence and found that there was a gun range in the area I would be ecstatic but we all know the haters will move there just in spite to start proceedings to get it shut down.

Look at what Kitsap county has been doing for years and now the City of Issaquah is trying to shut down a popular old time shooting range.
