Shooting areas around Estacada?

Been awhile since someones commented but from what Ive read elsewhere that the road is closed due to unstable ground. Not sure on when it will reopen but folks have been saying you can still get to the pits up there via Hillockburn rd. Longer drive and supposedly not a very car friendly one at that. Can anyone confirm the status of the access via the bridge? Or even the status of the pits up there? I've never been but want to head out there one of these next weekends.

The bridge is closed to car traffic and unlikely to be reopened. It needs repair that's "not in the budget". The pit CAN be accessed from the other side (or could be the last time we tried). Seems to me, that's the drive we were really glad to have GPS along; lots of forks in the road. And yes, not very car-friendly; potholes frequently. Quiet though! Last time we went up, we spent several hours at the quarry and only saw 1 other person.
