I competition shooting friend of mine in snow bound Kentucky, sent me this ditty today he composed quickly, in response to my brief poem from Idaho about the weather there and time to "skidoo". Just some fun exchanges. :p

More Good Poetry, I wrote this after seeing your version, and sent it to my shooting buddies: ;)

And Here is the Shooter's Version:

I tried to go out shooting, so my longjohns I did wear,
Roads and traffic were just awful, and driving made me swear!

I finally got to Silver Creek, and tried to load my gun,
But my hands kept turning purple, and that was no darn fun.

When I put my belt and holster on, I dropped my set of keys,
Now they're somewhere in the snow, can someone find them, please?

We set out targets in the snow, and thought we did it right,
But when the timer beeped – my gosh! – they all turned snowy white!

There's nothing to see or shoot at, just tons and tons of snow;
Nowhere to train this winter; might as well be in Idaho!

Otis :(
